How gold-efficient is each item? This calculator compares an item's total cost to the gold value of its raw stats, based on the cheapest basic items. An item at 110% is 10% more cost-effective in pure stats than its price.
Passives and actives are not counted in the gold value: an item <100% is not necessarily bad, it means you are paying for a unique effect.
Gold efficiency measures the ratio between an item's statistical value and its total gold cost. To compute it, the cheapest basic items are used as reference: for example, a Long Sword gives 10 AD for 350g, so each point of AD is worth 35g. An item whose stats are worth more than its price is said to be "gold efficient" (efficiency > 100%).
An item at 120% efficiency means its raw stats are worth 20% more than its cost. However, an item at 85% is not necessarily bad: the remaining 15% represent the value of its unique passive or active. Void Staff, for example, has a relatively low pure efficiency, but its percentage magic penetration is extremely valuable against teams stacking MR.
The values used in this calculator are derived from the cheapest basic items in the game: Long Sword (35g/AD), Amplifying Tome (20g/AP), Ruby Crystal (2.67g/HP), Dagger (25g/%AS), Cloak of Agility (40g/%Crit), Glowing Mote (50g/Ability Haste), and many more. These values are updated automatically with every new patch.
